Rebuilt tape edge machine with a stainless steel top
Everybody in this trade uses the word rebuilt. Here it means one thing, and it is the same thing on every machine: the machine comes apart down to the frame, the wear parts are measured and replaced, the sew head is rebuilt on the bench, the electrics are renewed, the machine is painted with an automotive finish, and then it is run under power before it is crated.
We rebuild James Cash, United, Spuhl Anderson, Porter and Atlanta Attachment tape edge machines, and we rebuild customer owned machines as well as our own. If you want to know exactly what was done to a particular machine, quote us the reference and we will pull the file.
What to look for
Ask what was replaced, not what was done
A rebuild that resets everything is not a rebuild. Ask which parts were measured and which were replaced.
Ask whether the head came off
A sew head rebuilt on the bench under a light is a different machine from one adjusted in place.
Ask about the corner
Slow corner control is what separates a machine an operator can run all day from one they fight.
Ask to see it running
Nothing leaves this shop that has not been run under power. We will send you the video.

The rebuild, step by step
STEP 1
Strip to the frame
Head off, carriage off, top off, drive out, wiring out. This is where we find out whether the machine is worth the work.
STEP 2
Measure and replace the wear parts
Track, bearings, clutch, lift screws and pivots measured. Anything outside tolerance is replaced or machined back.
STEP 3
Rebuild the sew head on the bench
Off the machine, stripped, wear parts replaced, hook and feed reset, timed and run before it goes near the table.
STEP 4
Renew the electrics
New components, a new panel where one is needed, and a new PLC on machines that take one. Wired for your own supply.
STEP 5
Automotive paint
Frame, table and carriage, with a hardened anti rub surface, so the top still looks right after a year of mattresses.
STEP 6
Run and test under power, then crate
Carriage walked round, corner control set, lift cycled, head sewing. We send you the video before it is crated.

What is done. Inspected and photographed as it stands. We say what we know.
What is not. Not stripped, not rewired, not repainted.
