The shop behind the catalogue
We rebuild tape edge machines in Roebuck, South Carolina, and we sell them, new and rebuilt, to mattress manufacturers worldwide.
The shop
Machines arrive here as they come off a customer's floor. They go out stripped to the frame, with their wear parts measured and replaced, their sew head rebuilt on the bench, their wiring renewed, an automotive finish on the frame and the table, and a video of the machine running under power before it was crated.
We work on the American iron this trade was built on, James Cash, United, Spuhl Anderson, Porter and Atlanta Attachment, and we fit Singer 300U, Singer 300W and Pfaff chainstitch heads. We rebuild customer owned machines as well as our own, and we buy used tape edge machines every month.
Every photograph on this site is the actual machine, in our shop. We do not publish prices online. Every machine is quoted.
Tape Edge and American Plant & Equipment, Inc.
Tape Edge is a division of American Plant & Equipment, Inc., Roebuck, South Carolina. The parent company buys, sells and rebuilds industrial machinery of every kind; this division is the part of it that lives on mattress closing machines, and the catalogue on this site is the tape edge half of the parent's inventory.
What that means in practice is that a tape edge buyer gets a specialist shop and a specialist catalogue, and still gets the parent company's freight, crating and worldwide shipping behind it. If you are looking for a machine that is not a tape edge machine, the parent company almost certainly has it.
